Mission Statement

The Convent Avenue Baptist Church Social Justice Ministry is a grassroots, nonpartisan organization working to ensure everyone is represented in our democracy also to expand and protect voting rights.  We defend democracy and empower voters through activist, education and information at the local, state also national levels.

What We Do

The Social Justice Committee is a forum to discuss issues that affect the membership, as well as inform members about current legislation on the city, state and federal level.  The CABC Social Justice Ministry is also a forum to recruit and train volunteers for political activities.  The CABC Social Justice Ministry hosts Fifth Saturday Voter Education Forum Project Series - Lunch & Learns, Voter’s Registration Drives and Kwanzaa Celebrations.  We will also assist Families of Gun Violence and Police Brutality in the community on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days with gift cards.

Meetings are held every Fourth Sunday of the month with the exception of August, if we are in Washington, D.C. commemorating the anniversary of The March On Washington.
