The mission of the Christian Education Ministry at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church is to teach, nurture, and equip believers of all ages with the Word of God, so that they may grow in faith, live out Christian principles in their daily life and serve God, the Church and Community.  Through Bible-centered teaching, discipleship, and spiritual formation, we seek to strengthen the body of Christ, develop committed disciples that are rooted and growing in Jesus Christ through faith, knowledge, love and service.

Ministries

African American Experience Forum

Provides a framework where members of Convent can learn about and be cognizant of their African heritage.

Baby Dedication

Provides the blessing of infants and children.

Children's Ministry

Devoted solely to the caring and nurturing of the children in our church family (ages 0-12 years of age).

Chosen Youth Ministry

Endeavors to encourage our young people to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and to nurture a growing relationship with Him.

Discipleship Training

Equip disciples of Jesus Christ to live as such and to make other disciples.

Hallal Dance Ministry

Uses liturgical dance to worship and praise God.

Leadership Development

Provide leadership training to Convent leaders.

Mentoring & Parent Ministry

Founded to support and nurture the children and youth of Convent in their endeavors and growth in their spiritual walk.

New Member Orientation

Introduce new members to Convent and to Christian principles.

Rooted & Growing Initiative

Help Christian disciples live out their Christian values and to make other disciples.

Spiritual Big Brothers and Big Sisters

Focuses on new member development by assigning someone to be a “buddy” to our new members.

Sunday Church School

Teach the truths of God's Word and equip believers with a biblical foundation that drives a desire to be disciples, transform hearts, lead others to Christ, and seeks God daily.

Teacher Training

Train new Sunday School Teachers.

Young Adult Ministry

Believes in the importance of providing opportunities to fellowship with one another in an effort to develop a stronger relationship with God through service and activities that deal with issues common to young adults.
