Greetings, and thank you for visiting our newly designed website!  I hope that you find the information contained here useful and helpful, and that you will utilize it to get to know us better; and we would like to get to know you too, so please visit often and stay in touch with us.

You can also access information and announcements about us on our Facebook page.  Please "Like" us on Facebook so you can stay informed of the many exciting ministry activities that we do on a weekly basis.

Since 1942, the Convent Avenue Baptist Church family has sought to be a faithful witness for Jesus Christ in our community and the world.  We are a large urban congregation located in the village of Harlem in New York City; and we seek to live up to our motto of being "Changed People, changing the community and the world for Jesus Christ."  Our ministry and witness are based on a foundation of 5 basic principles which are:  Worship, Discipleship, Stewardship, Fellowship and Leadership.

We have a number of unique, effective ministries that are designed to nurture, educate, inform and encourage people of all ages who are seeking a closer walk with God.  We are intentional about ministry to children, youth, young adults, adults and senior saints throughout the life of the church.  We are also sensitive to the particular spiritual needs of both men and women in the community.  We are a dynamic, Spirit-filled congregation that will be a blessing to you and your family.  Come and worship with us and see for yourself!

Sincerely,

Dr. Jesse T. Williams, Jr.
Senior Pastor
