Helping Hands Ministry

The Convent Avenue Helping Hans Ministry is an outreach ministry which addresses homelessness-the street homeless, homeless families in shelters, and former in shelters, and former homeless families who have relocated into permanent housing-by providing spiritual guidance, resources, and referrals, Commit to help members of our community affected by social dilemmas and systemic problems that plague society.

"For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Matthew 25: 35-36

First of all, we acknowledge that help is from God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We endeavor to show thanks for our blessings by assisting others where and how we are able too.
We participate in community outreach, clothes distribution and special project for those who can use a little help:

  • Clothing outreach in collaboration with Evangelism and Healing Hope Ministries
  • Weekly clothes distribution due to catastrophe events
  • Accompany Rev. Morgan to the NYC Rescue Mission the first Monday of each month
  • Annual Christmas celebration for families from Domestic Violence Center in Harlem
  • Distribute Blessing Bags containing toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, lotions, socks, etc.
  • Distribute Tip Sheet-information on locations of food pantries, soup kitchen and other organizations that offer assistance

Helping Hands Ministry meets 1st Sunday of each month immediately following the 11am service in the Educational Building, room 305.
