George
Oliver
George Oliver is a Texas native now living in Brooklyn, New
York. George received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre
from Sam Houston State University in 2005. He has been seen
on stage in the roles of Booker T. Washington in Ragtime,
Delbert Tibbs in The Exonerated, Jim in Big River, and worked
several years as a member of the esteemed performance company
of the Texas Renaissance Festival. George is a playwright
and director for stage. He has penned the short-play Exodus,
translated and edited the French Existentialist Drama La Route,
and co-authored two plays (The Race and The Race Card) with
Angela Watson-Modeste and DeJamion McDowell. George is currently
serving as the Director of the Youth Choir in Harlem's famed
Convent Avenue Baptist Church, is an Artist in Residence with
GEMKNEM Troupe, Inc., a non-profit theatre company focused
around social uplift.
