Minister John Faison, Jr
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth”. Psalm 121:1-2
Minister John Faison, Jr. was born in Lumberton, North Carolina. He graduated from J. H. Hayswood High School in Lumberton, NC. After graduation from High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served for four years, receiving an honorable discharge. He served as a Military Police Officer. His tour of duty included service in Japan and Korea. After being discharged from the Air Force he relocated to New York City. Years later, he joined the Convent Avenue Baptist Church. John has been a member of the Convent Avenue Baptist Church for over twenty six years.
John has served as the Chairman of the Board of Deacons and as a Trustee and a teacher of the New Member’s Orientation class. He continues to teach in the New Member’s Orientation program. John has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from the College of New Rochelle. He also has a Certificate in Christian Ministry from the New York Theological Seminary as well as a Masters of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary.
John’s call to the ministry took place on September 23, 1997, when the Holy Spirit fell upon him and told him to go preach the “Good News”. His response was, “Here am I Lord, send me”.
Along with his church activities, he is a Lead Singer for the Fantastic Soulernaires Gospel group and a Gospel Music Promoter.
John served for over 32 years as a Police Officer including five years as a Detective with Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) Police, retiring with the rank of Sergeant.
Minister John Faison is married to Reverend Charlene D. Faison. They have three adult children.
Minister John Faison is a servant of God and has been called to preach the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
