Joseph Hand
Joseph Hand began his culinary skills at Teacher’s
College Columbia University in the year of 1961. He was promoted
to food service manager in 1972. In 1979 he was promoted to
Director of Food Services at University of Bridgeport in Connecticut,
where he served until 1990. Joe was elevated to District Manager
of the New York area until he resigned in 1992.
Joe started working for Culinary Management in 1992 at Webb
Institute in L.I.N.Y. as food service manager until 1996 where
he transferred to New York Military Academy Cornwall N.Y.
where he retired in December 2008.
Joe was born in Burgaw, NC where he was educated at C.F.
Pop High School and attended Church at Pipe Creek Baptist
Church. He came to New York in 1960 and in 1977 he joined
Convent Avenue Baptist Church. He became a member of the all
Male Usher Board until he was called to be a Deacon. Presently
he serves as the Chairman, Board of Trustees.
Joe is married to Osia (Sandy) M. Hand and has raised three
children.
